Shopaholic Mom With Baby No.2 - Part 2

Although I named myself a "shopaholic mum" on the title, I actually prepare my shopping list with extra care (look for any sales). Still I care about the budget I spent on the items. Why not? We're going to raise 2 children under one roof and our "million dollars" luck is still lacked.

In this part 2, I would love to share a baby sleeper from "First Year". Commonly we get a baby cot, a baby cradle and a baby bouncer (either the U-shaped spring bouncer or the modern one from Fisher Price or other brands). I have thought very hard upon purchasing it. Giving it a deeper thought, I think the sleeper is quite compact and useful to carry my newborn around (from our house to parents' house). It's so light to be carried like a bag. Another main purpose is to place it on our bed at night. Thus, I don't need to get out of my bed to carry my baby from the cot for feeding; likewise, my baby can sleep safe and sound in the sleeper without worrying we roll on him.

Besides, there's another lovely product from Pupsik Studio to be introduced -- A travel-sized beansprout pillow with tags. Old folks believe beansprout pillow can ease newborns to sleep calmly by placing it on the chest. It makes the newborns feel like cuddled inside mommy's womb securely still. I remembered my mom preparing one for my 1st baby (filled with uncooked rice instead of beansprouts husks) when she found him easily frightened by any surrounding noises. Hope my baby no.2 would love this little pillow and have a comfort sleep with it.

Shopaholic Mom With Baby No.2 - Part 1

It's our baby no.2 coming to the world soon. Honestly I have no many baby stuff to get compared to the 1st baby but still I'm so passionate to look for something special for our new bundle of joy.

As such, I always occasionally visit certain baby websites as if doing window shopping. Pupsik Studio (based in Singapore) is one of my favourite. I like their lovely and stylish fabrics which are used in making their signature pouch slings as well as some nursery/bedding accessories. Let's see what Pupsik's items I have gotten for my lil baby bunny (2011 is the year of Rabbit in Chinese Zodiac) -- A dimpled pillow (online purchase through a friend) and a nursing cover (bought from Mothercare) under same fabric design "Disco-dots". In fact, the 1st item I bought was a travel-sized beansprouts pillow with ribbon tags (see next blog) during sales time. But I could not get the same design for this item, or it'll be perfect (haha... for me or for my baby?!).

Note: In Malaysia, Mothercare stores are selling their pouch slings and Nursing covers.

Play n Learn: My Boy Starts To Write

I know my boy can write number "1" at age 2+. After all, he is good at scribbling any lines or sketching any shapes of his favor. But this year, he starts attending a formal class (not playschool anymore) and he is taught to trace (yeap, not write from the root) the numbers and alphabets progressively.

To help him learn better, I put up a number chart onto the wall of our bedroom. So every night, he can point and read the numbers which he can recognise. Also, he is very keen on writing with Fisher Price's "Doodle" drawing board... but we are freaked when he can write number "2" as well. We are pretty happy to learn about his progress and wish he can do better at his own pace.

Keep it up!!!

Sweet Dream, My Dear Boy

Really appreciated that my aunt sewed the pillowcase and bolster case so soon (which made from the leftover fabric, refer to my previous blog http://so-sweetcloset.blogspot.com/2010/06/circus-on-bed.html). Guess I was much happier than my boy to get a complete set of (custom made) bedlinen. I even talk to my aunt if she is happy to take another sewing project from me in future. "Absolutely can"...that's great!!! Only if I can find a nice pattern of fabric later.

In the picture, a fitted bedsheet + 2 pillowcases + 1 bolster case. They are all tailor-made by love.

Have a sweet dream, my dear boy!

Cute Stickers For Decor Idea

Wall papers or wall stickers are the latest trend for house decoration. Thanks to Miss J... we like the stickers you bought for us.

Recently I just bought a 3-drawers cabinet from IKEA. No choice, we have run out of storage with the coming 2nd child. The cabinet is in plain white. Well, the stickers reached us on right time. I paste some parts of the stickers on one side of the cabinet. The bore-some white cabinet looks so different now.

My boy likes the aeroplane design.. but I want to keep it for the children room (in future). Now he's still sharing room with us).

Sing Me A Love Song

My boy turns 3 years old this year. He goes to Kindergarten now. He can talk better and sing better. For negative, he shows his anger if we scold him; he challenges our patience. Sometimes, he can be a little sweet boy; but sometimes, he can be a little monster.

Nevertheless, I am proud of him... especially he can sing many songs for me. He loves to sing. In recent, I hear him singing a new song. A theme song from Barney's MTV - "I Love You, You Love Me". But he can only pick few lines from this song. So I ask my hubby to search the song with lyrics from Youtube. Then I play the song and practise the lyrics with him. He takes 3 nights to sing it aloud words by words.

My best Valentine's gift is never such sweetest. (Hehe, my hubby was definitely defeated!!!) Thank you and I love you, my little lover!

Year-end Book Shopping

It's December!!! My mood is always getting more cheerful in this month. I guess anyone feel same too. More holidays... more sales... and more shopping (good reason to spend $$ for festive preparation).

Ever since we have our 1st child, I think 50% of our shopping budget is spent on the kid's food (milk), apparels, toys and books. So I always question whether RM1k "tax relief" on each child is fairly sufficient to ease our pockets. Also because of this, I'm much glad to spend more in buying books for my boy which I can get "tax deduction" accumulated up to RM1k. Therefore, it's good to check if you still have some "amounts" to fill up by the year-end for this category.

"Wow wow..." that's my boy 1st response when I showed him the new books. He was so excited and couldn't wait to flip them (yeap, he can't read yet, haha..). Still I find Kinokuniya bookstore@ Suria KLCC is the best place to look for children story books.
